How the competition evolved
The Caribbean Premier League began in 2013 and quickly established a tournament identity built around franchise cricket, packed Caribbean grounds and a compact T20 schedule. Jamaica Tallawahs won the inaugural final, but the balance of power soon shifted towards Trinidad and Guyana.
Trinbago Knight Riders have built the strongest championship record, while Guyana Amazon Warriors have reached more finals than any other team. The archive also includes breakthrough titles for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in 2021, Guyana in 2023 and Saint Lucia in 2024.
The 2026 season is included as an upcoming edition, not as a completed result. It runs from 7 August to 20 September, with the champion and runner-up to be added only after the final.
2013 to 2026
Jamaica Tallawahs beat Guyana Amazon Warriors
The Tallawahs became the first CPL champions. Their bowlers held Guyana to 128 before Chris Gayle guided a controlled chase that ended with 15 balls remaining.
Barbados Tridents beat Guyana Amazon Warriors
Rain shortened Guyana's chase and produced the only weather-adjusted CPL final in this record. Barbados defended the revised target to collect the franchise's first title.
Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel beat Barbados Tridents
The Red Steel won their first championship on home soil. That title belongs to the same franchise that was renamed Trinbago Knight Riders before the 2016 season.
Jamaica Tallawahs beat Guyana Amazon Warriors
Jamaica produced one of the most decisive finals in league history. Guyana were dismissed for 93 and the Tallawahs needed fewer than 13 overs to secure their second trophy.
Trinbago Knight Riders beat St Kitts & Nevis Patriots
TKR recovered from 90 for seven to win a tense chase. Kevon Cooper's unbeaten 29 from 14 balls delivered the franchise's second title and its first under the Knight Riders name.
Trinbago Knight Riders beat Guyana Amazon Warriors
TKR became the first team to retain the CPL title. Colin Munro anchored the chase as the hosts overhauled 148 with eight wickets in hand.
Barbados Tridents beat Guyana Amazon Warriors
Barbados ended Guyana's record 11-match winning run at the final hurdle. Jonathan Carter's unbeaten 50 helped set up a 27-run victory and the Tridents' second crown.
Trinbago Knight Riders beat St Lucia Zouks
TKR completed the CPL's only perfect championship season: 12 matches, 12 wins. Lendl Simmons and Darren Bravo carried the unbeaten side through the final chase.
St Kitts & Nevis Patriots beat Saint Lucia Kings
Dominic Drakes struck an unbeaten 48 from 24 balls as the Patriots reached 160 from the final delivery. It remains the franchise's first CPL championship.
Jamaica Tallawahs beat Barbados Royals
Brandon King made an unbeaten 83 as Jamaica chased 162 in only 16.1 overs. The result gave the Tallawahs a third title from three final appearances.
Guyana Amazon Warriors beat Trinbago Knight Riders
After five previous final defeats, Guyana finally lifted the trophy. Imran Tahir's team dismissed TKR for 94 and completed the chase with nine wickets remaining.
Saint Lucia Kings beat Guyana Amazon Warriors
Saint Lucia recovered from a difficult chase to win its first CPL title. Aaron Jones and Roston Chase turned the final late and denied defending champions Guyana.
Trinbago Knight Riders beat Guyana Amazon Warriors
TKR chased 131 to reclaim the championship and move to five titles, the most in CPL history. Guyana finished runner-up for a seventh time.
