Ranking rule
Which is the most successful CPL team?
Trinbago Knight Riders rank first because they have won five CPL titles, two more than Jamaica Tallawahs. TKR have reached six finals and won 83.3 percent of them. The 2015 title is included in their record because it was won by the same Trinidad franchise under its former Red Steel name.
Guyana Amazon Warriors provide the important counterpoint. They have reached a record eight finals and own a 62.2 percent win rate in decided matches, almost level with TKR, but have won only one championship. That is why this ranking uses titles first, then finals appearances, while displaying win percentage as a separate measure of consistency.

Win percentage is wins divided by decided matches through the end of CPL 2025. No-results are excluded from the denominator. A Super Over result is counted as a win or loss. Franchise renames are combined only where the team has documented continuity; replacement or new franchises are kept separate.
Franchise-by-franchise analysis
Why each team ranks where it does
Championship record, final conversion and long-term results tell different parts of the story.
01
Trinbago Knight Riders
Trinidad's franchise has won in three distinct cycles. The Red Steel broke through in 2015, the renamed Knight Riders became the first back-to-back champions in 2017 and 2018, and the 2020 side completed the league's only perfect 12-win season. A fifth title in 2025 moved TKR two clear of Jamaica Tallawahs.

02
Jamaica Tallawahs
Jamaica Tallawahs turned every final appearance into a championship. They won the inaugural tournament in 2013, overwhelmed Guyana by nine wickets in 2016 and chased 162 in 16.1 overs against Barbados in 2022. The Tallawahs record ended with that franchise and is not assigned to the Jamaica Kingsmen, who joined in 2026.

03
Barbados franchise
Barbados won both championships as the Tridents, defending a rain-adjusted total in 2014 and ending Guyana's 11-match winning run in the 2019 final. The franchise also finished second in 2015 as the Tridents and in 2022 as the Royals, giving it four finals and a 50 percent title conversion rate.

Guyana Amazon Warriors
No team has reached the CPL final more often. Guyana were runners-up in five of the first seven seasons, then finally converted their sixth final appearance into the 2023 title. Further defeats in 2024 and 2025 took the franchise to eight finals overall, while its 62.2 percent decided-match win rate shows why title count alone understates its consistency.

Saint Lucia franchise
Saint Lucia's first two finals ended in defeat: the Zouks lost to unbeaten TKR in 2020 and the Kings lost on the final ball to the Patriots in 2021. The breakthrough arrived in 2024 when the Kings chased 139 against Guyana to win the franchise's first championship.

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots
The Patriots first reached the final in 2017, when TKR recovered from 90 for seven to beat them. Four years later Dominic Drakes' unbeaten 48 carried St Kitts & Nevis to the 2021 title from the final delivery, producing the closest finish in CPL final history.

How to read the ranking
Titles and win percentage answer different questions
A title ranking answers who finished the season as champion most often. On that measure TKR's five trophies put them clearly first, and Jamaica's perfect three wins from three finals is exceptionally efficient.
Win percentage measures performance across the full league and playoff schedule. Guyana's 92 wins and 62.2 percent rate show sustained excellence even though seven of their eight finals ended in defeat. Barbados, Saint Lucia and the Patriots each have a stronger title record than their overall win percentage alone would suggest.
For that reason this page does not blend the measures into an invented score. Championships, finals conversion and decided-match win percentage are shown separately so readers can compare them directly.
