Season format and tournament structure

    Seven teams compete for four playoff places.

    Third plays fourth; the losing team exits.

  3. 3 Qualifier 1

    First meets second for a direct place in the final.

  4. 4 Qualifier 2

    One final route remains for the contenders.

  5. 5 Final

    The two qualifier winners decide the CPL champion.

When does CPL 2026 start, and how long does it run?

The men’s tournament begins on Friday 7 August and ends with the final on Sunday 20 September. There are 39 matches across 45 days, and every time shown on the schedule is local to the host country.

Which teams are playing in CPL 2026?

Seven teams will compete: Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, Barbados Tridents, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Kingsmen, Saint Lucia Kings, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders. Jamaica Kingsmen are the new franchise for 2026.

The season visits eight grounds across seven Caribbean territories. Arnos Vale Stadium stages the opening weekend, while Kensington Oval in Barbados hosts the last five league games, all four playoff matches and the final on 20 September.

How do teams qualify for the CPL playoffs?

After 35 league matches, the top four teams advance. Third plays fourth in the Eliminator, first meets second in Qualifier 1, and the Eliminator winner faces the Qualifier 1 loser in Qualifier 2. The two qualifier winners then meet in the final.
