The Knight Riders recovered from a restrained first half through a 67-run stand between Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard. Both made 44 before late contributions carried the visitors to 182 for 6.

McKenzie attacks from the outset
Kirk McKenzie drove an 82-run wicketless PowerPlay and reached 69 from only 25 balls. The innings left Jamaica ahead of the required rate even when Usman Tariq's three wickets slowed the middle overs.

Russell and Powell close the chase
Andre Russell and Rovman Powell counterattacked when 54 were needed from 30 balls. Their surge produced 45 runs across two overs and removed the pressure created by the Knight Riders' spinners.
Russell departed for 27 from 15 balls, but Powell stayed unbeaten on 29 and Jamaica reached 183 for 5 in 18.4 overs. The pursuit became the highest successful CPL chase at Sabina Park.
