Trinbago Knight Riders Name Overseas Group for CPL 2026
The defending champions have paired proven top-order power with two younger all-round options and the leading wicket-taker from their 2025 campaign.

Familiar power with room for a new role
Trinbago Knight Riders have kept the spine of a proven T20 batting plan. Hales and Munro can force the powerplay, leaving Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard to control the middle and closing overs.
Breetzke gives the side a younger specialist batting option. Amshi de Silva adds flexibility as a batting all-rounder, while Tariq’s off-spin strengthens a slow-bowling group that already includes Sunil Narine and Akeal Hosein.
Selection pressure in a strong local squad
The Knight Riders do not need all five overseas players to carry the same match. Their local roster contains Pooran, Pollard, Narine, Hosein, Andre Russell and Jayden Seales, so the overseas places can respond to conditions rather than cover obvious gaps.
On slower pitches, Tariq can join Narine and Hosein in a three-spinner attack. When TKR want extra batting depth, Hales, Munro and Breetzke can occupy the top four around Pooran.
The route into the title defence
TKR open in St Vincent against the Patriots before travelling to Jamaica and Antigua. Their Trinidad block begins against Saint Lucia Kings on 26 August.
The early away run will test how quickly the new combinations settle. Dwayne Bravo’s second season as head coach starts with a squad deep enough to rotate without weakening the core.
