Guyana Amazon Warriors Beat Knight Riders by 25 Runs in WCPL
Shemaine Campbelle's 31 held the Warriors innings together before their opening bowlers ripped out five wickets inside the powerplay.

In brief
Warriors defend a modest total with a ruthless powerplay
- Guyana Amazon Warriors posted 119 for 8, with Shemaine Campbelle top-scoring with 31 from 28 balls.
- Trinbago Knight Riders slumped to 22 for 5 inside the powerplay against Shabnim Ismail and Shamilia Connell.
- The 25-run win keeps every side in contention for the Limacol WCPL 2026 title.
Campbelle holds the Warriors innings together
Guyana Amazon Warriors kept their Limacol WCPL 2026 hopes alive on Saturday, beating Trinbago Knight Riders by 25 runs at Kensington Oval. Seventeen-year-old opener Eboni Brathwaite gave them a flying start, launching Marizanne Kapp for six, but Kapp answered by bowling her for 13 from six balls with one that nipped back.
After that cameo, runs were hard to find against the pace of Kapp and Shikha Pandey. Shemaine Campbelle carried the innings, following her half-century in the Warriors' opening match with a measured 31 from 28 balls while wickets fell around her. Every run mattered in a low-scoring game, and Campbelle's calm scoring through the middle overs at least gave the Warriors a total their bowlers could attack with.
Pandey strikes twice as Warriors close on 119 for 8
Laura Harris removed Campbelle to expose two new batters late on, and Pandey made the squeeze tighter by dismissing Nadine de Klerk and Chloe Tryon within three balls of each other. Guyana finished on 119 for 8, a total that looked short and left their bowlers with no margin for a bad start.
They did not need one. Shabnim Ismail and Shamilia Connell tore through the Knight Riders top order, and by the end of the powerplay Trinbago were 22 for 5. Laura Harris, Kapp, Deandra Dottin, Jannillea Glasgow and Yastika Bhatia were all back in the dugout, and it might have been worse had Connell not dropped a return chance off her own bowling.
Penna's brief fightback cannot save Knight Riders
Madeline Penna was left to rebuild almost on her own. She hit Ashmini Munisar for six to try to pull the rate back, then went for a repeat next ball and was caught in the deep. Once she went, the tail swung hard and wickets kept falling as the Warriors closed out a 25-run win.
The result leaves the whole competition open before the final round of group games, with the Warriors finishing their group campaign against the Barbados Tridents on Sunday. Follow the run-in on the CPL schedule, and see how the Tridents edged Jamaica Empress by three runs later the same day.
