Why the Falcons have announced six names
The Falcons’ list is larger than a standard five-player overseas group because availability changes during the tournament. Moeen and Perera provide continuity. Kumar and Singh cover the opening three matches, while Shadab and Muqeem join for longer seven-match windows.
That arrangement explains the 18 names in the published tournament group without suggesting that six overseas players will be active together.
Spin is the defining strength
Moeen’s off-spin, Shadab’s leg-spin and Muqeem’s left-arm wrist-spin give Antigua three different ways to attack the middle overs. Fabian Allen adds another left-arm option from the West Indian group.
Perera supplies wicketkeeping and powerplay aggression. Kumar and Singh bring North American international experience for an opening stretch that includes three matches in St Vincent.
A demanding start before the Antigua block
Antigua play the first match of the men’s tournament against Jamaica Kingsmen at Arnos Vale on 7 August. Their opening block also includes Saint Lucia Kings before the team returns home later in August.
The early availability plan matters because the Falcons must settle a batting order while moving between personnel. Moeen and Perera give them two fixed points around those changes.
