Green rips the Patriots apart inside three overs

Chris Green set up a vital CPL 2026 win for Barbados Tridents at Kensington Oval, where St Kitts & Nevis Patriots were bowled out for 118 and beaten by four wickets. Bowling first, the Tridents captain removed Johnson Charles with the second ball of the match and completed a wicket maiden, before Daniel Sams struck two balls later as Kyle Mayers feathered behind to Quinton de Kock.

Green was not done. In the third over Andre Fletcher chopped onto his stumps, leaving the Patriots 6 for 3 and the Bridgetown crowd sensing a rout. The visitors crawled to 21 for 3 from the powerplay, still rebuilding an innings that had started about as badly as it could.

Hasaranga rallies the Patriots, but 118 is never enough

Gudakesh Motie kept the pressure on through the middle overs and removed Patriots captain Jason Holder, who had chipped in with 24. Wanindu Hasaranga gave the innings its only real surge, making 45 from 25 balls before Sherfane Rutherford ran him out brilliantly, and the last wicket fell from the final ball with the total on 118.

Green led the attack with 4 for 20, Sams and Motie took two wickets each, and the Tridents walked off knowing the bowlers had done the hard part. The danger was a collapse of their own, and for a few overs it nearly came.

De Kock absorbs the pressure and finishes the chase

Holder almost mirrored the start his side had suffered, dismissing Brandon King and Rivaldo Clarke in the first over and then removing Zachary Carter, caught high by Hasaranga. At 38 for 3 after the powerplay the Tridents were rocking, but de Kock never looked rushed, batting at his own tempo and extending his lead at the top of the tournament's run charts.

Stands of 38 with Shadrack Descarte and 39 with Rutherford took the game away, and although Kyle Mayers produced a sharp reaction catch to remove Green late on, Sams finished it with a six. The four-wicket win eliminates the Patriots and pulls the Tridents right into the playoff mix with two home games to play.
