Republic Bank CPL Launches Annual Hall of Fame
The first two inductees will be celebrated at a Barbados gala on 15 September, with proceeds supporting prostate cancer awareness and testing.

CPL creates an annual Hall of Fame
The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League has launched a Hall of Fame to recognise the people who have shaped the tournament since its first season in 2013. Two honourees will be selected each year: one player and one individual whose work away from the field made a major contribution to the event.
The new award is intended to preserve the performances, leadership and behind-the-scenes work that helped establish CPL as a major franchise tournament. Supporters can explore the current competition through the CPL 2026 schedule.
Thirteen seasons of landmark performances
CPL's announcement highlighted several moments from its history, including Chris Gayle guiding Jamaica to the inaugural title, Shakib Al Hasan taking 6 for 6 and Trinbago Knight Riders completing an unbeaten championship season in 2020.
It also pointed to the competition's fastest centuries, record team totals and the sustained success of figures such as Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard. Profiles and current tournament information are available in the CPL player directory.
First inductees to be honoured in Barbados
The inaugural gala dinner will take place in Barbados on 15 September 2026. CPL says the first player and off-field inductee will be announced in the coming weeks, before the ceremony brings together members of the Caribbean cricket community and West Indies legends.
The gala falls during the closing Barbados leg of the season, with the tournament final scheduled for 20 September at Kensington Oval.
Gala proceeds will support men's health
Proceeds from the event will support The Sir Clive Lloyd Healthcare Foundation. Its work focuses on prostate cancer awareness, testing and early detection across the Caribbean, including through the Great Catch initiative.
CPL plans to hold the Hall of Fame celebration every year, announcing new inductees before each gala while using the event to support causes relevant to Caribbean communities.
