CPL SchoolYard Launches Back-to-School Programme Across Four Territories
More than 50 children will attend the first events on 17 August, followed by player visits to schools in Guyana and Barbados on 10 September.

SchoolYard begins in Saint Lucia and Jamaica
The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League has launched CPL SchoolYard, a community programme designed to bring franchise players together with children as the new school term approaches. Its first two events will take place simultaneously on 17 August at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium and Sabina Park.
More than 50 children across the two locations will join activities and an interactive session with CPL players. Each participant will also receive a book bag filled with back-to-school essentials. Both grounds form part of the tournament route listed in the CPL 2026 venue guide.
Players will visit schools in September
The second phase, called Take a Player to School, is scheduled for 10 September in Guyana and Barbados. CPL players will visit schools in both territories and speak directly with students about their journeys from the classroom to professional cricket.
The visits fall during the later stages of the competition. Dates and host-country legs can be followed through the CPL 2026 schedule.
Digital literacy added to the programme
CPL also plans to use matches and its social channels to support digital literacy for young people across the Caribbean. The league has not yet announced a detailed timetable for that part of the initiative.
The programme is intended to make the players more accessible to young supporters. Fans can explore the cricketers involved in the season through the CPL player directory.
Community activity alongside the tournament
CPL SchoolYard extends the league's community work beyond matchdays, combining practical school support with opportunities for children to hear directly from professional players. The four participating territories will host tournament cricket during the 2026 season.
The first SchoolYard events coincide with fixtures in the Saint Lucia and Jamaica legs, including matches at Sabina Park and Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium.
