Sabina Park history and CPL role
Sabina Park is one of Caribbean cricket's great city grounds. Set in Kingston with the Blue Mountains visible beyond the boundary, it has hosted Jamaican first-class cricket since the nineteenth century and West Indies Test cricket since 1930.
That inaugural Test became part of the ground's legend: England opener Andy Sandham made 325, the first triple-century in Test history, while 19-year-old George Headley answered with 223 for West Indies. The large southern stand now carries Headley's name.
CPL cricket returns to Sabina Park in 2026 with four Jamaica Kingsmen home fixtures, restoring a Kingston block to the tournament schedule.
