Jamaica Kingsmen Join CPL as the Seventh Team for 2026
The Kingston-based franchise brings Jamaica back into the league and expands the men’s competition to seven teams.

Jamaica returns to the league
The Caribbean Premier League confirmed the Jamaica Kingsmen identity on 31 March. The team restores a Jamaica-based franchise to the men’s tournament and increases the field from six to seven sides.
Kingston is the franchise base and Sabina Park its home ground. The venue will stage four matches during the opening portion of the season.
Ownership and identity
A United States-based ownership group led by Fawad Sarwar controls the franchise. The group also uses the Kingsmen name in Pakistan’s franchise system, giving the ownership a cross-league model.
For Jamaican supporters, the immediate significance is local cricket at Sabina Park. CPL had not staged matches on the island since 2019.
The first home block
Jamaica start the season against Antigua in St Vincent on 7 August. Four days later, the Kingsmen face Barbados in the first Sabina Park match.
The home block also includes Guyana, Trinbago and St Kitts. Rovman Powell leads a squad containing Brandon King, Alzarri Joseph and a phased overseas group.
