In brief
Tridents bowlers set up a comfortable home win
- Saint Lucia Kings were restricted to 138 for 6, scoring just 29 runs in their last five overs.
- Mujeeb Ur Rahman took 3 for 22 and Daniel Sams 2 for 20 for the Barbados Tridents.
- Quinton de Kock and Rivaldo Clarke shared an unbeaten 76-run stand to seal an eight-wicket win.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman turns the screw on the Saint Lucia Kings
Barbados Tridents beat Saint Lucia Kings by eight wickets in CPL 2026 at Kensington Oval, a win built by their bowlers. The Kings started well enough, with Kamil Pooran using the Power Play to take them to 51 for 1 after six overs, but Mujeeb Ur Rahman bowled Pooran six balls later and the innings never recovered its pace.
Mujeeb and Jakeem Pollard squeezed through the middle overs, and Roston Chase could not break free either. Only one Tridents bowler went for double figures per over. Mujeeb finished with 3 for 22 from four overs and Daniel Sams took 2 for 20, while the Kings managed just 29 runs for three wickets in their last five overs to close on 138 for 6.
De Kock and Clarke finish the chase without fuss
Brandon King and Zachary Carter gave the chase a solid start, putting on 41 before Chase removed King. Carter followed soon after for 32, and at that point the Kings bowlers briefly matched the control Barbados had shown earlier, with a couple of chances put down or falling short of fielders.
Quinton de Kock and Rivaldo Clarke refused to panic. They worked the bowling around first, then opened up late in the chase, adding an unbeaten 76 together to take the Tridents home with 13 balls to spare in front of their home crowd. It was the sort of chase the home side had been failing to finish during their losing run, and this time they closed it out without any late drama.
Tridents end a four-game losing run in CPL 2026
The result was the Tridents' third win of the season and their second over Saint Lucia, and it snapped a run of four straight defeats. Barbados stay at Kensington Oval to face the Patriots on Thursday, while the Kings play their last group match against the Warriors on Wednesday. Both fixtures are on the CPL 2026 schedule.
The win also tightens the middle of the CPL 2026 points table heading into the final group games. Read the full story of the home side in the Barbados Tridents team guide and the match details in the Tridents vs Kings match centre.
