Warriors bowlers keep Kingsmen in check

Guyana Amazon Warriors extended their unbeaten home run in CPL 2026 with an eight-wicket win over Jamaica Kingsmen at Providence Stadium, chasing 160 with 16 balls to spare. Put in to bat, the Kingsmen never got going against a disciplined Warriors attack and needed one big innings to reach 159 for 7.

Dwaine Pretorius did the early damage, trapping both Kirk McKenzie (1) and Keacy Carty (18) leg-before in a three-over spell that brought two wickets. Khary Pierre matched him with two of his own: Usman Khan was bowled, and Maaz Sadaqat's 35 from 34 balls ended with an edge behind, as the Kingsmen kept losing wickets through the middle overs.

Hassan Khan drags Kingsmen to 159

The Kingsmen slipped to 83 for 5 in the 13th over, with Keemo Paul making 15 and Rovman Powell falling for a golden duck to Mohammad Nabi on consecutive deliveries. Hassan Khan then rescued the innings almost on his own, striking an unbeaten 62 from just 29 balls with six sixes.

Odean Smith added 13 in support before he was run out with two balls left, but the total always looked light at Providence once the Warriors openers got started. The Warriors vs Kingsmen match centre has the fixture details.

Gurbaz and Dindyal settle the chase early

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mavendra Dindyal added 46 in under five overs, with Dindyal making 33 from 17 balls, including four sixes, before falling to Hunain Shah. Gurbaz carried on to a 35-ball 54, hitting five fours and three sixes, and by the time Sadaqat finally removed him in the 13th over the score had already reached 114.

That was the last success the Kingsmen bowlers had. Captain Shai Hope anchored the finish with an unbeaten 39 from 35 balls and Shimron Hetmyer hurried things along with 30 not out from 17, the pair closing the game out in the 18th over. The win keeps Guyana on top of the CPL 2026 points table, while the Kingsmen's play-off push takes another hit. Only Hunain Shah and Sadaqat took a wicket each for the Kingsmen, whose bowlers went at nearly nine an over as the chase ran along at 9.23 an over.
