Providence Stadium history and CPL role

Providence Stadium, also known as the Guyana National Stadium, stands on the East Bank Demerara outside Georgetown. Construction began in 2005 and the venue was created specifically for the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup, replacing Bourda as Guyana's principal international ground.

Its World Cup debut included the match in which Lasith Malinga became the first bowler in international cricket to take four wickets with four consecutive deliveries. The ground later hosted the 2022 and 2023 CPL finals, with Guyana Amazon Warriors winning their first title here in 2023.

Providence hosts five Warriors fixtures in CPL 2026, including the schedule's only 10am start.
