Amazon Warriors win the Limacol WCPL 2026 final

Guyana Amazon Warriors are Limacol WCPL champions at the third attempt. They beat Trinbago Knight Riders by two wickets in a gripping final at Kensington Oval, chasing down their target with only three balls left. Guyana had lost the finals of 2023 and 2025. This time they finished the job, thanks to a number eight batter playing in just her second match of the season.

Chedean Nation had not batted all tournament. When she walked in, her side needed 74 runs from 46 balls with four wickets standing, and the game looked gone. She left the field unbeaten on 39 from 21 balls, the trophy in the bag.

Verma and Kapp lift Knight Riders to 145 for 6

Deandra Dottin won the toss and chose to bat in the sunshine. Debutant Sushma Verma held the Trinbago innings together, top-scoring with 39 and guiding the side through the middle overs. Marizanne Kapp and Shikha Pandey added late runs to push the total to 145 for 6, a score that asked real questions of any chasing side in a final.

Guyana's bowlers had done their part. Shabnim Ismail finished with two wickets, and Shamilia Connell was the pick of the attack, giving away only 18 runs from her four overs and taking one wicket. Their work kept the final within reach.

Nation's counterattack steals the trophy

The chase fell apart early. Tazmin Brits made 22 and Shemaine Campbelle 9, but five batters were back in the pavilion before the halfway mark as Dottin, Karishma Ramharack and Pandey took two wickets each. When the sixth wicket fell at 71 in the 13th over, Trinbago were in full control.

Nation changed that with four clean sixes. Captain Chloe Tryon joined her and the pair smashed 40 runs from 23 balls before Tryon was bowled by Laura Harris for 32 in the 17th over. Sheneta Grimmond then fell for 10, leaving 16 needed from nine balls. Nation kept a clear head against Pandey and Ramharack and got Guyana home at 149 for 8. The Warriors had beaten the Barbados Tridents in the WCPL playoff a day earlier, and their season is covered on the CPL 2026 schedule page.
