WCPL Teams Confirm Local Players After 2026 Draft
Each franchise received a Heritage player before the protection and draft stages produced ten-player local groups.

Four Heritage players opened the process
The WCPL assigned one Heritage player to each franchise before the draft. Barbados Tridents received Hayley Matthews, Jamaica Empress received Chinelle Henry, Guyana Amazon Warriors received Shemaine Campbelle and Trinbago Knight Riders received Karishma Ramharack.
The three returning teams then protected two more players from their 2025 squads. Jamaica used the same stage to select Stafanie Taylor and Aaliyah Alleyne from the available pool.
Local groups reach ten players
The draft continued until each franchise had ten local players. Barbados added names including Qiana Joseph and Afy Fletcher, while Guyana retained Realeanna Grimmond and Ashmini Munisar.
Trinbago kept Deandra Dottin and Jahzara Claxton during the protection stage. Jamaica’s first local group also includes Rashada Williams, Zaida James, Djenaba Joseph and Kate Wilmott.
Overseas signings complete the squads
Each franchise can add five overseas players to create a 15-player squad. The 2026 regulations allow all five overseas players to enter the same playing XI, giving coaches more selection options.
