Debutant bowling figures of 3 for 13 backed up the captain, before Quentin Sampson's 37 not out from 11 balls rescued a stumbling chase.

In brief
Warriors spin pair takes eight wickets to send them back top
- Saint Lucia Kings were bowled out for 119 after reaching 51 for 1 in the powerplay.
- Imran Tahir claimed 5 for 17 and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 3 for 13 on his Guyana Amazon Warriors debut.
- Quentin Sampson smashed an unbeaten 37 from 11 balls to complete a four-wicket win for the Warriors.
Tahir and Miraz dismantle the Kings after a bright start
Guyana Amazon Warriors went back to the top of the CPL 2026 table on Wednesday night, bowling Saint Lucia Kings out for 119 at Providence Stadium and winning by four wickets. The Kings had started well enough, batting first with a cautious plan, losing Tim Seifert lbw to Dwaine Pretorius but still reaching 51 for 1 from the powerplay with Kamil Pooran providing the early push.
Then the spin took over. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, on his Warriors debut, dismissed John Campbell in his first over, and captain Imran Tahir struck to remove Pooran and Roston Chase. The wickets kept falling in the eleventh and twelfth overs, and by the time Obus Pienaar's fighting 35 ended as the final wicket, taken by Romario Shepherd, the innings had collapsed completely. Tahir finished with 5 for 17, Miraz with 3 for 13.
Sampson's 11-ball blast rescues a nervous Warriors chase
The chase was no formality. Beaten by a fine bowling display from the Falcons the previous night, the Warriors crept to 23 for 1 in the powerplay, content to sit in and wait. The patience nearly backfired when Charith Asalanka and Maheesh Theekshana removed Glenn Phillips and Shai Hope in consecutive overs, and Chase struck again to leave the home side four down and needing 48 from the last five overs.
Quentin Sampson settled it in a hurry. He launched Chase for two sixes and a four from three straight deliveries, flipping the momentum in the space of one over, and his unbeaten 37 came from just 11 balls as the Warriors got home with four wickets to spare.
Kings finish on eight points and wait for help
The defeat closes the Kings' group campaign. Four wins and eight points leave them fourth, and they now depend on results elsewhere to hold onto a playoff place rather than controlling their own route.
Guyana, by contrast, return to the top of the standings with two matches still in hand, their spin attack again looking the most complete unit in the tournament.
