Barbados Tridents history and 2026 outlook
Barbados were one of the six founding CPL franchises in 2013 and won championships under the Tridents name in 2014 and 2019. Those two titles remain part of the same Barbados franchise record.
After competing as Barbados Royals from 2021 to 2025, the team officially restored the Tridents identity for 2026. The ownership and management structure remains with Royals Sports Group while the playing name and colours reconnect with Barbados.
The 2026 campaign has a powerful home conclusion: five Barbados league matches are scheduled at Kensington Oval before the venue stages the Eliminator, both Qualifiers and the final.
